Preeeeetty sure nothing bad can happen when I’m wearing my lucky hat. — Captain Marvel #9
That’s why I’m with you on this ridiculous errand. To make certain nothing happens. I got your back. Always.
…And whoever your mysterious tormentor is? I’ve got a bone to pick with him, too — the only person allowed to drive you crazy is me.
Carol and Steve in Infinity #4.
I am con exhausted, but I am so happy with all the stuff I came home with! There were so many incredibly talented artists it was hard to ever focus at one table. Patrick and I were there for 5 hours and while it was a small convention I could probably write many great things about lots of the talented people there (Rob Liefeld is not included in that statement)
I bought wow so many art prints and there were so many more I wanted. First off I want to recommended Pixel Who and Alan Moorefield to everyone! Two great artists I loved and spent time talking to but had dried out my pockets before being able to buy something from them.
The Scarlet Witch print I purchased from Skyscraper48/Sean Anderson, the Fionna and Cake done by Steve Conley who has a pretty cute webcomic up, Roller derby Carol Danvers (!!!!) was done by Interrobang Studios (lots of cute Sailor Moon stuff too - even if the artist doesn’t like Carol as Captain Marvel which is frustrating), and then I can not speak highly enough of Jason McLellan.
The Scarlett Johansson and Black Widow prints were by him and I just fell in love with the way he draws Natasha so much that I commissioned a small card of her, seen down by roller derby Carol. He and his wife were lovely to talk to and honestly I cannot stop staring at the two pieces of work I purchased from them. Incredible detail, my pictures do not do it justice. Check out his site he has some amazing work including a Jean Grey that was reaaalllyyyy hard not to buy.
The last two items are a book signed by Matt Fraction, who wasn’t there, but the money went to charity so why not! And Marvel Super Heroes #13 which is Carols first appearance YAY. All in all a good day. Now I am going to FINALLY go watch the Day of the Doctor!
au: in which carol and jess grow up together, grow apart, move in, adopt a cat, and fall in love (not necessarily in this order).
for the caroljess week
if you’ll excuse me, i’m going to kick some ass!
